Drowning

I'm drowning
Sometimes I can keep my head above water
The water seems calm
Manageable
I can see land
And imagine getting there
Being safe

But it's just momentary

Every time I hope it's a sign
Things are getting better
I can handle it all
It'll be OK

Then a big wave comes to overtake me
Jolts me
And I see things in a whole new way

I'm just really still drowning
